Jambo! We have had a packed couple of days here at Point of Grace. We attended church at two different places, at the school with over 400 kids and in a "bush" church.
The last two afternoons we played games with the kids for two hours each day. There has been a lot of basketball, frisbees, and soccer.
The highlight of yesterday was the strong storm that popped up. We got stuck on the ball field without shelter amidst heavy rain, strong wind, and Kenyan snow (hail!). The kids didn't know what to think since hail is very rare here. Needless to say we were all soaked. But it was fun to watch the kids reactions.
This morning we split up into 3 groups and made 12 home visits. It is always humbling being welcomed into these homes. Some of the houses are ones we visited last trip and so we were able to catch up.
Late morning we joined one of Pastor Meekers churches for a ground breaking ceremony for the house we will be building on Saturday. We will be building a house for the other local pastor, Pastor Hezbon, and his family.
This afternoon we split up again and the ladies joined the beading ladies and the gentlemen prepared the chicken coop for tomorrow's arrival of 250 boiler chickens. In the morning Pastor Chase, Pastor Meeker, Brad, Richard (the Richard famous in many mission trip stories) will be heading to Kisumu to pick up chicks....ummm I mean THE chicks! 😀
We are all doing well. We have had a few bumps and bruises from games with the kids. But otherwise we are all doing well! Thank you for your continued prayers. We really appreciate your support!
